FAQ - Using blubell

Q: Why does the blubell starts every time I turn on the computer ?

A: You have selected the option "Start blubell when windows starts". You can deselect this option under 'Application Settings' if you want to turn on blubell yourself.

Q: How do I make a call ?

A: To make a call, you need to record a voice tag for your contact. After that, you simply press the headset button and speak the contact name of the person you wish to call.

Q: How do I record voice tags ?

A: To record voice tags, go to blubell user interface / Contacts, select a contact from the list and press the “Record” button

Q: How does blubell recognize who is calling me ?

A: blubell matches the incoming number to your voice tags. If a contact with a defined voice tag calls you, you will hear the tag spoken in your Bluetooth headset

Q: What is the range of blubell ?

A: The range depends on the Bluetooth solution in your computer (dongle or built-in) and your headset. Typical range will be 10m but may vary depending on your equipment

Q: I'm not hearing any sound in the Bluetooth headset, but I can hear it from the computer audio device. How can I hear the sound in the headset ?

A: First of all, ensure that your Bluetooth headset is on. Then go to blubell 'Application Settings' and check if the Bluetooth audio device is correctly selected ("Bluetooth audio" or similar but never "Windows audio device").

Q: While talking, the sound has a delay, why does this happen ?

A: This may be due to a bad internet connection. This might be caused by several other reasons: older Bluetooth software -please verify that you have the latest Bluetooth software from your manufacturer ; lazy Bluetooth sound initialization – try stopping and starting the Bluetooth device

Q: Can I use blubell for conference calls ?

A: You will be able to use blubell, initiating and accepting calls while away from the computer but the conference call must be initiated from your Skype user interface

Q: How do I make Blubell work with Logitech Communications Helper ?

A: Accept both blubell and Logitech to work with Skype when prompted to do so. Then, in the Logitech Audio Settings panel, select ‘Bluetooth Audio’ for both microphone and speakers.

Q: Can I use my Toshiba Bluetooth software with blubell ?

A: We are developing a solution with Toshiba, if you would like us to email you when it is ready or if you would like to be a beta tester, please follow this link and register your interest.

Q: I received the message "A serious error has occurred while initializing Bluetooth. Please restart the application. For more details, please consult the FAQ list". What should I do next ?

A: Your Bluetooth stack is not working properly. We suggest you try to re-start your computer to solve the problem

Q: Can I use another messenger than Skype and will blubell work for me ?
