Recommended headsets - Plantronics

General: An affordable entry level headset from the headset experts at Plantronics. Available in black/silver and silver/black finish.

Bluetooth Version: 1.2, 9 meters range

Pairing: We initially encountered some problems selecting pairing mode with the 320. The button must be pressed for about 8 seconds in order to achieve this. Paying attention to the indicator lights helped this once we got the hang of it, it worked just fine.

Sound quality: Sound quality is excellent both incoming and outgoing. We never had any problems or  issues with the sound. The difference between min and max volume is not great, but always sufficient.

Physical fit: The behind-the-ear bracket swivels and provides left and right ear wearing options. We didn’t find this particularly comfortable. However, the ear plug is a soft rubber compound and it is very comfortable to use. The 320 is also a very good fit for users with long hair.

Range: Maximum unobstructed range we achieved with our class-1 Belkin dongle was a thoroughly unimpressive 4 meters.

Accessories: As expected on an entry level headsets, accessories are basic; netcharger only. Plantronics does however offer USB charging as an additional option.

Summary: Once we learned our way around the 320, it became a good friend. The battery does not last very long if the headset is in constant use but stand-by was a thoroughly respectable 3 days. We are still a little puzzled by the light indications of this headset, and the range is on the low side, but for light usage on a budget, this is a good choice.
