Recommended headsets - Jawbone

General: The Jawbone’s key selling feature is the ‘military-grade noise shield’ and jawbone conductive technology as demonstrated in their impressive video viewable at www.jawbone.com It is a stylish and innovative physical design, but is it mere design and marketing hype or is there some real engineering substance behind it? Jawbone is available in silver, red and black.

Bluetooth Version: 1.2 Class 2 (10m nominal range)
Pairing:The Jawbone paired easily with our dongle and built-in Bluetooth solution during tests and we experienced no issues with dropped pairing.

Sound quality:
The sound is very, very clear, both in and outgoing; the best performer we have tested to date so we have no reservations in awarding an impressive

Physical fit:
The Jawbone comes with four different behind-the-ear brackets, large and small for left/right ear use. These are inserted into the headset and hold it firmly in place without being painful. Furthermore, there are four different rubber grommets to cater for every ear-shape out there. Once you find the one that fits you, this headset is superbly comfortable to wear

Range: Maximum unobstructed range we achieved with our Class 1 reference dongle was the usual 10 meters line-of-sight which in itself is OK, but unlike other headsets is not ‘forgiving’ meaning it doesn’t ‘hold on’ to the connection beyond the range of acceptable audio. This takes some getting used to, but for blubell usage, you soon learn where the edges of your coverage are.

Accessories: Other than the before mentioned four brackets and four grommets, it comes with a wall switch mode power supply with fitted US plug and separate euro adaptor. The output side is in USB format which allows for the headset to USB cable to be used either with poser supply or PC for charging. This is a practical solution we appreciated in daily use.

Summary: The Jawbone looks good and feels well engineered as you would expect from a top-end headset. Only two, large easy-to-find buttons integrated in the surface of the innovative design makes it easy to use but more importantly, the sound quality is very, very impressive indeed. Jawbone proves that style, solidity and top performance can go together and we are pleased to award it our first ever
